In 2007 Colin and Eithne Nutt embarked on an ambitious project to photograph the whole of Scotland in order to produce a series of photographic books about each region of the country. Despite everything that the weather could throw at us, we have managed to produce a clutch of brand new books for 2013! So, by the end of April 2013 the Picturing Scotland series will reach a total of 26 books.

In our books, the photographs are organised in the form of a journey around each area, our aim being to capture the beauty, the wildness and the character of each part of Scotland.

We are increasingly finding that visitors planning their trip to Scotland are buying these books to help with their itinerary. Bought by visitors and local people alike they encourage the reader to seek out places that they might otherwise miss and provide a lasting record of the beauty of each region.

We’ve been in the publishing business for over 30 years and since we began to produce illustrated books our photography has developed and become the heart of the business. Our aim is not only to take classic images but to gather those well off the beaten track, involving many miles of walking and climbing. There can be quite a lot of disappointment as promised good weather vanishes into mist and rain, but great jubilation when perfect conditions make the perfect shot!
