Picturing Scotland: Edinburgh
(Revised and Expanded edition)
Content: A photographic journey around the renowned city of Edinburgh that captures its moods and illustrates the principal landmarks and places of interest. Accompanying text by Callum Cochrane and Colin Nutt dips into the city’s fascinating past. This revised and expanded edition has 16 extra pages of photographs. New scenes within the city have been included while some new pictures of classic Edinburgh scenes enhance the quality of this commended book, first published as Edinburgh: a Pictorial Souvenir. Most of the photographs were taken especially and are not published elsewhere. There are over 100 photographs, 30 of which are new to this revised and expanded edition.
Market: This is an ideal book for those who love Edinburgh and will open the eyes of those yet to discover it. Very good value at just under £5, it also makes an ideal gift for friends and relatives and those who have family connections with Scotland. It is hoped that this book will be an encouragement for those who have never travelled to the area to make their own visit and discover some of the less well-known places it illustrates. It is especially hoped that this book will play a small part in providing a lasting memory for all those who return to their homeland as so many did during the Year of Homecoming (Homecoming Scotland 2009).
